Very simple to use; very effective - This electric knife sharpener is so effective and easy to use, it's almost completely "automatic". Virtually anyone from teenager to age 99 can master the instructed technique quickly. Read the manual carefully, and re-read at the next use if you don't use it often. It is essential to remember and follow the recommended procedures for sharpening, and it can do everything: from a totally dulled knife-edge, whipping a semi-sharp blade into like-new shape, or even frequent maintenance of knives that see heavy action. It can even correct tiny knicks in the blade edge, and freshen-up the finish on a serrated edge. I used to borrow my Dad's Chef's Choice 3-Stage Sharpener, and it was terrific at keeping even the most inexpensive of my stainless steel knives in perfect cutting condition. I finally broke-down and bought my own when I invested in a full set of Wüsthof Classic, and it is money well spent, I can tell you!
