In Praise of shadows
Atelier: the name evokes the hand of craftsmen and the tradition of artisanal fabrication. The realization of this fluid optical design was through the collaboration with artisans, who hand carved the models for each piece. The calculation of the embossment and the glazing produces an effect of ebbing water in the tide pools. Designed with fine dining in mind, the lightness in weight and porcelain color speak of quality and craftsmanship. “Atelier is inspired by nature, light and shows. Rene Ozorio believes the relationship of shape and texture on a tabletop create a narrative, providing context to what we are about to taste. Rene Ozorio is a tableware designer, art director, and stylist for hotels & restaurant concepts. He had developed this namesake collection of porcelain tableware to add a casual, yet sophisticated look to a restaurant's interior & cuisine. In collaboration with chefs, his designs are influenced by nature, architecture, interior design, and local cultures; all playing a part in creating a total dining experience.
