Created in 2007, their healthy ceramic nonstick is the first, and best, alternative to conventional nonstick coatings.

GreenPan has recently reengineered their manufacturing process to help minimize waste when applying their coating. It’s better for the quality of their products, and it’s better for the earth.

You may have read about companies pouring materials that are used to make nonstick products into rivers and streams, letting nature deal with the waste. While GreenPan's process doesn’t use PFAS to begin with, they've taken the additional step of building a wastewater management facility onsite. The water from production is treated and reused, creating a sustainable cycle.

GreenPan has even installed solar panels on their rooftop, which generated 6.6 million kW in 2021, or 19% of their total electrical requirement.

Other companies come and go, creating cheap products, in cheap factories, with even cheaper materials. Many of these are damaging to the environment in new, unregulated ways. They do it that way because it’s, well, cheaper. But GreenPan owns their factory. They make their coating, pans, and make sure every product lives up to their standards.

How is your ceramic nonstick coating made?

It starts with sand-derived raw materials, which we turn into a solution and spray onto the pan without the need for glues or numerous PFAS additives. We’ve cut out the toxins—PFAS, PFOA, Lead, and Cadmium—so you can cook without worry.

How should I care for my cookware?

To maximize performance use low to medium heat, silicone and wood utensils, and oil or butter. To clean, use a soft sponge with warm, soapy water. Let it cool before washing and store safely.

What stovetops can I use my pans on?

Most GreenPan cookware works on all stovetops, except induction. Pans with our Magneto™ induction bases work on all stovetops, including induction.

Are your pans really green?

Our coating is free of PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, so you can breathe easy. The curing process for our coating also creates 60% fewer CO2 emissions in comparison with the curing of conventional nonstick coatings. Our factory generates 30% of its power from the solar panels on the roof and it also has its own wastewater treatment plant to keep our water clean and reuse water wastewater in many other processes in the factory.

Are your pans dishwasher safe?

Most collections are, but hand washing is recommended to help your coating last longer.

Can I use metal utensils?

While our coating is tough enough for metal utensils, nylon, bamboo, silicone, and wood utensils will preserve your pan’s coating and keep it like new longer.

LOW TO MED HEAT IS BEST
Our patented Thermolon™ coating distributes heat more effectively than traditional coatings, so your pan will get hot enough to sear a steak even on low to medium heat.

SILICONE & WOOD UTENSILS
Softer tools (like silicone and wood) are gentler on your pan and will help your coating last longer.

USE OIL OR BUTTER
Everything tastes better with butter or oil. It helps distribute heat, too. We recommend high-smoke point oils for high-heat cooking. Avoid all oils in spray form, as the tiny particulates will heat up quickly and burn, creating a layer of carbonization on your pan.
 
The Best Way To Clean Up
WASH UP
Our pans are super easy to clean with a soft sponge and some warm, soapy water. They’re also dishwasher safe. Avoid abrasive detergents, steel wool, or iron sponges.

LET IT COOL
Plunging a hot pan into cold water risks thermal shock, which can warp pans and shatter glass lids. Always allow your cookware to cool before washing.

SAFE STORAGE
For a little added defense, you can’t beat a pan protector—it’s a cushy pad that keeps your cookware from getting dinged when it gets knocked around in your cabinets.
